East of England Co-op Food store in Barham, Suffolk set to close for refurbishment
A Suffolk East of England Co-op Food store is set to close this month as part of its involvement in the retailer’s ongoing refurbishment programme.
The food store in Barham, near Claydon, will close at 9pm Saturday 5 July and reopen to its members and customers at 7am on Thursday 24 July.
As part of the refurbishment, members and customers can look forward to a range of new services in-store as well as improvements to the energy efficiency of the building.
Chief Executive Officer for the East of England Co-op, Andy Rigby said:
“It’s important for us to seek continuous improvement from our portfolio of food stores, ensuring we keep our stores looking fresh and modern.
“Refurbishing our Barham Food store is another example of our commitment to providing the best shopping experience for our members and customers in their local communities.”
Barham will become the third food store the regional retailer has refurbished in Suffolk so far this year, alongside opening new branches in Ipswich Station and on Woodbridge Road. New food stores are also planned for East Bergholt, Thetford and Hellesdon in Norwich.
The East of England Co-op is owned by its members and is driven by its commitment to supporting local communities. The retailer has donated over £1 million to good causes in East Anglia over the last three years.
