East of England Co-op Food store in Greenstead set to close for major refurbishment
The East of England Co-op Food store on Tamarisk Way in Greenstead, Colchester is set to close for just over one month as part of its inclusion in the retailer’s ongoing refurbishment programme. The Food store will close and re-open with a brand-new look as well as upgrades to its lighting, making the store more environmentally friendly.
The store will close this Saturday (11 October) at 10pm and will reopen on Wednesday 19 November.
Once open the store will have an enhanced food-to-go offering including coffee-to-go from Costa, Tango Ice Blast, Fwip ice cream as well as, freshly baked products and hot food from the retailers popular in-store bakery.
Chief Executive Officer for the East of England Co-op, Andy Rigby said: “We're excited to be giving our Greenstead Food store a fresh new look. These improvements mean we can offer our members and customers an even better shopping experience, while also reducing our impact on the environment.
“We’re proud to be once again investing back into our local communities and we look forward to welcoming our members and customers back into their local Food store soon.”
Greenstead becomes the first East of England Co-op Food store the retailer has refurbished in Essex this year, following three refurbishments in Suffolk at Barham, Capel St. Mary and Holbrook. Last year the regional retailer completed major refurbishments at their Food stores in Kelvedon and Maldon.
The East of England Co-op is owned by its members and is driven by its commitment to supporting local communities. The retailer has donated over £1 million to good causes in East Anglia over the last three years.
