East of England Co-op supports Leiston community with temporary in-store Post Office
The East of England Co-op Food store in Leiston has opened a temporary Post Office in-store to support its local community.
The temporary in-store Post Office opened on Monday 15th December at 9am and will allow service to resume within the community following the sudden closure of the local branch. The service was previously available in a local business branch on Sizewell Road.
The Post Office is based in the East of England Co-op supermarket on Sizewell Road in Leiston, IP16 4AE and will open on Monday-Friday between 9am-5.30pm and on Saturdays between 9am – 2pm. The East of England Co-op supermarket is open Monday-Saturday between 7am until 9pm and is open on Sundays between 10am until 4pm.
The temporary Post Office will offer personal and business banking services as well as Royal Mail parcel services and online travel money order collections.
Leiston residents visiting to use the Post Office will also have an option to donate to Friends of Leiston Primary School as part of the East of England Co-op's Local Giving programme, which runs until 31 January. All funds raised will go directly to the charity, alongside a £150 donation directly from the retailer.
Andy Rigby, Chief Executive Officer at the East of England Co-op said: “We’re proud to support the local communities we serve by being home to essential services such as post offices. I hope that this temporary Post Office will offer Leiston the services it needs over the busy festive period and in the new year.”
The East of England Co-op has in-store Post Office branches in 25 of its Food stores across the east of England.
