East of England Co-op Funeral Services’ first branch in Thetford is now open as the funeral directors continue to extend its offering of support for the communities of Norfolk.

Members of the local community will be able to visit the new East of England Co-op Funeral branch, located on Bury Road, for multi-faith at-need support as well as pre-paid funeral plans.

The branch was pronounced open following a ribbon cutting with Thetford Town Mayor Chris Harvey.

A number of community-focused activities will also be held at the branch including Coffee and Chat sessions. These will provide a chance for the local community to come together in a caring and understanding environment to help tackle loneliness and offer a valuable support network.

These sessions will be held every Wednesday 10am to 12pm commencing 22nd May.

The new branch, which functions as an arrangement office, is managed by Funeral Arrangers Lisa Smith and Susan Cochrane and will be open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, and Saturday from 9am to 2pm.

Funeral Arranger, Lisa Smith said: “With over nine decades of delivering our personalised, sensitive, and professional approach to funeral services, families across the East of England know they can trust in our teams through what can be an upsetting time. It’s a true privilege to open our doors to the local communities of Thetford and extend our services to this proud and historic town.

“Through our funeral services and community activities, including Coffee and Chat sessions, we’re excited to offer the people of Thetford a local hub for expert guidance and bereavement support.”

The branch offers several additional funeral services such as memorial masonry, memorial masonry, bereavement support and keepsakes.

East of England Co-op Funeral Services has branches across Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex and is available every hour of every day through its free careline on 0800 0744 362.
