East Anglia’s largest independent retailer announces new convenience store in Thetford
The East of England Co-op has confirmed plans to bring a new Food store to Thetford in Norfolk. The store will be located on Clifton Drive in the brand new Kingsfleet development and is expected to open in the winter.
The East of England Co-op is owned by its members and is driven by its commitment to supporting local communities. Operating a family of businesses, the East of England Co-op recently opened a Funeral Services branch on Bury Road in the town.
The new 3,000 sq. ft. store will provide everyday essentials as well as a range of hot and cold food-to-go options, including an in-store bakery and fresh coffee.
Doug Field OBE, Chief Executive for the East of England Co-op said: “We’re very excited to be opening our first East of England Co-op Food store in Thetford, cementing our presence in the town following the recent opening of a Funeral Services branch.
“New store openings are always great news for our colleagues and members. We’re looking forward to bringing our quality products and exceptional customer service to Thetford, as well as extending our Community Cares Fund, our support for local Foodbanks and community outreach programmes which are so important to us.”
In a jobs boost for the town, the East of England Co-op will be recruiting for Customer Service Assistants and Team Managers. Roles at the store will be available to apply for at makeadifference.eastofengland.coop.
